“Forever In Our Hearts”

The LORD cares deeply when his loved ones die.” Psalm 116:15 NLT

“Blessed Hope”

In loving memory of Kathy Oxley: Although the time I knew Kathy was brief her smile and happy spirit, even while facing death, impacted me. It was evident that Kathy had confidence that she would meet Jesus on resurrection morning. Until that day Kathy’s smile will be forever etched in my memory. “Even so Lord Jesus come…”

“I first found out about Shawna’s work during a community event. Her specialty is birds and sparrows are very important to my family as they symbolize the faith my sweet sister had during her fight with cancer that she unfortunately lost. She had a special verse that is also dear to our family. I asked Shawna if she would be willing to paint for us a picture of a sparrow and include the verse. She went above and beyond, using so many beautiful reminders of my Kate. I am so thankful for her dedication and kindness. It meant the world to our family.”

The featured painting is in honor of 8 year old Julianna Sayler who fought DIPG brain cancer. Julianna reminded all she loved that “Jesus Has Me”. The golden bird symbolized pediatric cancer and that Jesus holds us in the palm of His hand. “Shawna has been such a gift to our family. We started The Julianna Sayler Foundation in honor of my eight year old niece who passed away from DIPG brain cancer. Shawna’s kindness and generosity has brought so much hope and comfort to our family and many others. She uses her artistic gift to praise God and always point others to Him. Shawna was so amazing to work with when she created a one of a kind image for our foundations “Pasta with a Purpose” annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser. She took our ideas and made the most beautiful perfect image that we will use for years to come. She also painted the “Jesus Has Me” image of Gods hands holding a golden bird. It was a phrase our Julianna always said and captures her faith and hope of heaven. Shawna has so generously donated her time and gifts and we are so eternally thankful.”

Mrs. Blabey raised ten sons, one daughter, and three grandchildren. Not only did she touch the lives of her children and grandchildren she was an aunty and grandmother to every child that she came in contact with in including me. I’m personally looking forward to the big “family” reunion in heaven.

In Memory of Alma Blabey. Commissioned by her Granddaughter, Tina.

Steven and Jean enjoyed many long hours bird watching. Jeans favorite bird was the pileated woodpecker.

In Memory of Jean Harris commissioned by her loving husband Steven.

It was Judy’s cancer that brought us together. I exercised beside her at the gym and she needed someone to talk to. When she was diagnosed with stage four cancer I was the first one she told this instantly bonded us. Judy fought it bravely for several years. I’ve never seen a more hard working and focused woman than Judy, even while sick.  I painted this page in her Bible days before our last goodbyes. I can’t wait to meet her again when the heavenly trumpets sound and the dead rise to meet our Lord in the air.

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves.
Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16 & 17 NLT
