He Hears, He Sees, He’s Answering

She had posted a heart wrenching plea on my Facebook page. “Pray for my nephew who is homeless… that Jesus surround him.” The post caught both my attention and struck a chord in my heart.

Being a mother myself, my first reaction when I hear the words “homeless” is, “That poor mother!” I inquired whether his mother was a Christian, thinking she may find comfort from my prayer journals for mothers.

Her reply was “She is a believer, but is not healthy or grounded. Prayers please. He has always reached out to me more than his mom.”

As we continued to chat she decided to purchase the journal “You Heard Me Crying For My Son.” If her sister wouldn’t use it, she most definitely would. I immediately put it in the mail. A week later I received another message.

“I need to share a Praise! I received the journal today, thank you. I journaled today then just about an hour ago, I fell asleep, and woke up to the phone ringing. Praise God it was my nephew Jack and he sounded sober. O what a witness to my family, (who by chance is here..) His mother and son.”

I inquired as to how often he would call. “Maybe once a year, or sometimes once every 6 months if that.”

Her excitement energized the messages. It was no coincidence, God had heard her cries and, at the right time, showed Himself to her.

Although I don’t have a homeless child, I do have one that seldom calls and for whom my heart aches over. Last evening was a particularly hard time for me. I recorded a promise in my own journal, then headed to bed with my Bible. Once in my room I poured out my heart to God.

As of late, I have prayed many prayers, every one of them has been dramatically answered. There was no denying God’s hand was involved. One by one I thanked God for hearing and answering my prayer. I then held close to the thought that if all the other prayers were being answered I must trust that the one prayer that I currently can’t see answers for, MUST be being answered silently. Peace came over me. I climbed under the covers, propped up my Bible and began to read. (This will make you smile. Although it was God talking to Hezekiah, I believe we are no different.) “…I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears…” was it coincidence? I don’t think so!

I believe God’s heart is especially touched by the cries of parents (grandparents and aunts & uncles). He understands their pain first hand. He hears, and even when we can’t see it He
answers.

“…Blessed are those who cry now, for they will laugh.” Luke 6:21
“Jesus saw the mother and His heart was moved with compassion. ‘Don’t Cry!’…” Luke 7:13
“You see my tears and collect them in Your bottle.” Psalm 56:8

  1. Thank you for your encouraging posts. I always have a message spoken to me through them. I have a wayward daughter that my heart breaks for. I know there’s always hope while she draws breath. I know God sees our tears and hears our prayers. Please keep sharing. By the way, I’m an artist too! Your paintings are beautiful!

    1. Thank you Dawn. May God comfort you. One of my favorite promises to claim is “Don’t be afraid! Do not be discouraged for the battle is not yours, but God’s! 2 Chronicles 20:15 P.S. I would love to see your art. 🙂

  2. Thank you ❤️? Beautiful it’s a Lovely reminder of what God has done & what he will do. He is the same yesterday today and forever. And when I’m weak he (God) is strong. ❤️?

  4. Okay this made me tear up. I love your reasoning, if God answers our other prayers why would he not answer the one we so greatly desire? I meditate on Philippians 2:13 that says it is God who works in us to will and to do for his good pleasure. This tells me that God directs my will. Therefore is it not likewise His will that my child repents and turns back to Him? I have 2 grown daughters; one whom is a prodigal and judging by her fruit, so is the other. My heart breaks for them daily. Thank you for the reminder that God is always at work, even when we don’t see the immediate evidence.

  5. Me too Dawn. My heart breaks and hurts so much for my daughters. They’re both doing well in their jobs etc. but are so very lost spiritually. Shawna’s message encouraged me too. May God hear our prayers for our wayward children.
